Elizabeth Quay wins John Septimus Roe Award

ARM Architecture and TCL’s Elizabeth Quay public realm has won the John Septimus Roe Award for Urban Design from the Australian Institute of Architects WA Chapter.

The jury said, “This new waterfront precinct consists of 730 metres of terraced promenade and includes public spaces, a ferry station and canopy, BHP Billiton Water Park and bars, kiosks and restaurants—all unified by public art and a defining and unifying ‘ripple-wave pattern’.”

“Elizabeth Quay is a fine example of the outstanding benefits resulting from carefully designed urban design interventions to our built environment.”
