Making a splash

Fancy a swim in the Swan River? Or do the jellyfish, algae and mud turn you off?

Enter the gorgeous Swan River Deck. You can swim 100m laps in clean, filtered river water or you can splash around in one of the smaller natural pools. When you get out, there are places to sit, eat and drink, see an exhibition or do an exercise class.

It’s for absolutely everyone. It’s near public transport, it’s accessible and it’s affordable. It’s right next to Elizabeth Quay and the CBD.

We’d like it to be anchored next to Elizabeth Quay.

So far it’s only a vision that ARM is working on with a multi-disciplinary team led by Perth developer Grant Oldfield (Northstar Development). The team has sought feedback from crucial stakeholders including relevant WA Government bodies, local Indigenous organisations and business and community leaders, and Swimming WA but community support will be essential.

Now we need to know what you think. If you like the sound of it, please have your say.

The blue splash might contain an amphitheatre or stage, change rooms and places to eat and drink.
