Stephen Ashton, AM

We are so pleased that our founding director Steve Ashton received a posthumous Member of the Order of Australia (AM) “for significant service to architecture through management and design roles, to professional organisations, and to motor sport.”

We’re also thrilled that our friend Dr Rosemary Nixon (Steve’s wife) received an AM on the same day for significant service to community health in the field of occupational dermatology, as an academic and researcher, and to professional standards.

Their daughter Louisa says their success grew out of their strong partnership.

“Our parents both relied on each other in their respective careers and it never would have worked if they weren’t such an amazing team…They each owe their success to the sacrifices of the other—and they taught us that it absolutely can be done.”
