Go Behind the Scenes with ARM at Open House Melbourne

This Open House Melbourne weekend (26–27 July), get up close with some of ARM’s most iconic public buildings, from cultural landmarks in the heart of the city to a transformative new home for elephants in Melbourne’s west.

Melbourne Recital Centre & MTC Southbank Theatre
Join ARM Architecture, ARUP and Lendlease for a two-part talk exploring the design and construction of two of Melbourne’s premier cultural venues. The first session takes place at MTC Southbank Theatre on Saturday morning, followed by part two next door at Melbourne Recital Centre in the afternoon. Visitors can also explore MTC Southbank Theatre’s public spaces and go behind the scenes on a self-guided tour on Sunday. At the Recital Centre, you’ll find guided tours, live music, and a community choir singalong in the Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.

Werribee Open Range Zoo – Elephant Habitat
Take a deep dive into the design of the new Elephant Habitat at Werribee Open Range Zoo, one of Australia’s largest and most complex zoological projects. Designed by TCL + ARM, the project blends sustainability, animal welfare and immersive visitor experiences. (Bookings open 2 July, $7 fee applies.)

The Shrine Reimagined – Exhibition Tour
Explore alternative visions for Victoria’s war memorial in this guided tour of Designing Remembrance. While the Shrine was originally designed by Hudson and Wardrop, ARM has led multiple major upgrades of the site. This exhibition offers a rare chance to view original hand-drawn plans, many never shown publicly before. (Bookings open 2 July, $7 fee applies.)

Bookings for selected events open Tuesday 2 July at 12pm.
