Munarra wins ArchitectureAU Award for Social Impact
The Munarra Centre for Regional Excellence on Yorta Yorta Country in Shepparton has been named joint winner of the 2025 ArchitectureAU Award for Social Impact, announced on 3 July 2025.
The award, convened by Architecture Media and supported by the Melbourne School of Design, celebrates projects that demonstrate a deep commitment to social and community value, prioritising empathy over aesthetics.
ARM Architecture shares the honour with Collins and Turner’s Habilis, a sensitive and humane adaptive reuse social housing project in Sydney for people experiencing chronic homelessness and mental illness.
Designed by ARM Architecture, Munarra is a First Peoples-led education and cultural centre on Yorta Yorta Country, developed through deep co-design with the local community. We are very proud to win this award, as creating meaningful social impact is at the heart of our practice.
Thank you to all contributors to the project, including the Yorta Yorta community, Munarra Limited, the Victorian Government, University of Melbourne, Bush Projects, TVN On-Country and our entire consultant team.
