The 5-star InterContinental, which fronts Collins Street and extends south to Flinders Lane, is an icon of Melbourne’s boom-style Victorian-era architecture. It comprises the heritage-listed Rialto (1889) and Winfield (1890) buildings and the 1980s atrium that joins them.

Our work will, of course, respect the significance of the 19th-century buildings, while upgrading the 1980s structures.
