The new Westpoint Dining and Entertainment Precinct transforms a hard, hot, inhospitable, and largely grey existing rooftop into a vibrant place of belonging and memory-making for one of the most culturally diverse communities in Australia.
The new Westpoint Dining and Entertainment Precinct transforms a hard, hot, inhospitable, and largely grey existing rooftop into a vibrant place of belonging and memory-making for one of the most culturally diverse communities in Australia.
Working within existing tenancy lines, the project introduces an exciting new play area, new precinct markers, additional common seating, and substantial areas of new planting. It also includes six site-specific artworks, improved lighting, wayfinding, and signage.
The design draws upon Westpoint’s early branding, translating a logo of crossing lines into a spatial and wayfinding strategy for the Precinct. These coloured lines shape points of entry and movement, propose pathways and directions of travel, encircle play areas, and create interstitial and peripheral landscape spaces.
