Unlocking the Future of Geelong

How can strategic development breathe new life into Geelong’s dormant areas? And what role can good design play in encouraging culture, commerce, and recreation in Victoria’s second city? These questions underpinned the Property Council of Australia’s “Unlocking the Future of Geelong” panel discussion held on 03 November at the ARM-designed Geelong Library.

ARM Director Jesse Judd joined the panel, reflecting on the impacts that both the Geelong Library and Geelong Arts Centre (Stage 3) have had on the city. These two major civic projects have played a significant role in the transformation of Geelong from a declining manufacturing hub to one of Australia’s fastest growing cities, increasingly known for its thriving arts and cultural scene.
